We are currently in search of a highly skilled Customs Clearing Officer to join our team in Botswana. The Customs Clearing Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring our goods are cleared across the borders. 

  Customs Clearance:


  • Responsible for customs clearance of all inbound and outbound cross border shipments. 
  • Submission of clearance documents to customs authorities. 
  • Filing of documents. 
  • Framing import and export (plus temporary), transit (B22), and bonded cargo declarations 
  • Resolving customs clearance related issues with all drivers and clients. 

    Operations:

  • Supporting the operations team to execute any other reasonably assigned duties

  Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in customs clearance
  • Must possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Customs and Excise regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements applicable in both Botswana and South Africa, including import/export permits, customs forms, duty assessments, and compliance protocols.  
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers , drivers and customs authorities. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in using fleet management software and systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of transportation regulations and compliance
