Fleet Controller

We are currently in search of a highly skilled Fleet Controller to join our team in Botswana. The Fleet Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our fleet, ensuring optimal efficiency, timely deliveries, and top-notch performance. This is a full-time position located in Phakalane, requiring on-site presence.

    Operations:


  • Oversee and manage a fleet of vehicles, including scheduling maintenance, conducting weekly inspections, sourcing parts and arranging services, managing diesel consumption, handling breakdowns and overseeing vehicle licensing renewals.
  • Capturing trips onto in-house applications, scheduling drivers' working hours and planning routes.
  • Briefing all outgoing drivers before departure and ensuring that all correct documentation has been issued.
  • Reviewing trips and ensuring that all discrepancies have been reported and attended to.
  • Coordinating the successful loading of goods at client sites and managing all associated paperwork.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle details, maintenance logs, fuel consumption and other relevant data.
  • Ensuring that all trip documents like PODs, trip sheets, diesel slips etc. have been completed accurately and submitted.
  • Monitoring and updating records of drivers’ leave and overtime daily.
  • Monitoring driver performance and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Tracking vehicle locations and schedules using GPS systems and logistics software.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in fleet management or a related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience in Route Planning & Scheduling
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in using fleet management software and systems
  • Understanding of transportation regulations and compliance
